3 fundamentals of great movement!
Monday, August 7th, 2006When coaching footwork to clients I like to emphasise 3 essential fundamentals for great efficient movement.
1.) Don’t reach for the ball (this requires great footwork out to the ball and a solid stable hitting stance)
2.) Avoid falling off your shot (this requires fantastic balance and correct use of the non dominant arm and leg)
3.) Don’t jump as you hit (this means effective contact move selection, moving from a solid foundation, letting the ball drop into the strike zone and keeping the angles in the legs so good extension of the racket head through contact is achieved)
